Facilities, Bunking, and Tenting: The Pack has reserved the Amy Jenkins house for the campout. Amy Jenkins will be "base camp", with restrooms (separate for youth boys, youth girls, adult men, and adult women) and a kitchen. Amy Jenkins has 26 bunks in three bedrooms (4 / 10 / 12); bunks have a (thin) mattress, but bring a sleeping bag (or blankets). Please note that these are shared sleeping spaces. In addition, there is ample tenting space around Amy Jenkins. When registering, please indicate in the notes "Bunking - Amy Jenkins", "Tenting, with own tent", "Prefer tenting, but need a #-person tent". It would also be helpful to note "Have a spare #-person tent" if you could help out any family interested in tenting.
Meals and Food: The Pack will provide all meals starting Saturday AM (breakfast, lunch, and dinner Saturday; breakfast Sunday morning) with vegetarian options available. This is a change from prior years. Friday night options include eating before arriving, bringing your own prepared food to eat after arrival, or bring meal options that can be be prepared using the kitchen at the lodge (microwave, stove, pots/pans available). When registering, please indicate in the notes if your family has special dietary restrictions we need to consider. Remember: NO FOOD IN TENTS!! If you are bringing food for special dietary needs, please see a pack leader upon arrival to store food in Amy Jenkins.
Uniform Required: Class A or Class B uniforms
Packing: See the suggested packing list on the pack website – Files page.
Medical Forms: All attendees (scouts, siblings, and guests) will need to have current health forms (A and B) on file with the Pack. Bring completed forms and turn in at camp check-in.
Wear your Halloween Best to our October pack meeting! We will celebrate the season with a costume contest, spooky games, and frightening (but tasty) activities. This is open to all registered scouts of pack 171, siblings, and parents.
Monday October 28th 6:30 - 8pm Tentatively Jefferson Road Elementary Cafeteria
This will be a great opportunity to catch up with your Pack and Den friends and recognize Scouts for their achievements over the summer! Current Scout parents, be sure to update ScoutBook with any of your Scout's summer-time activities so that they can be awarded!
We will also officially kick-off the Fall Popcorn and Nuts Fundraiser and look ahead to all of the exciting events planned for the upcoming year.
All families are encouraged to invite any friends who might be interested in joining Pack 171 -- this event is open to any K-5th grader in the Rochester community looking to join Scouts, siblings, and parents.
