We are Cub Scout Pack 171 out of Pittsford, NY chartered by the First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford.
Our Pack meetings are generally held on the last Monday of the month from September through June with optional summer activities as well. We usually meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Jefferson Road Elementary School. We are an active pack consisting of kids (grades K to 5th) that primarily attend Jefferson Road and Allen Creek Elementary Schools. We welcome kids from any school and they can join our pack at any time of the year.
We are a family friendly pack that welcomes the entire family to participate in our Pack events. Moms, Dads and siblings old and young are encouraged to join us.
Our annual schedule consists of events such as:
- Hot Dog Roast
- Fall Camp-out
- Pack/Den Hikes & Bike Rides
- Halloween Pack Meeting
- Pinewood Derby
- Winter Camp-out/Overnight
- Sledding Party
- Scouting for Food & Clothing
- Marching in the Pittsford Memorial Day Parade
- Spring Camp-out
- Cub Scout Adventure Camp in the Summer
Pack 171 also participates in bell ringing for the Salvation Army and various community service projects throughout the year. To support our cub scouts and the activities they do, fundraising is done through the efforts of all of our registered scouts. Our primary source of funding is acquired through the annual Popcorn sales that run from September to the end of October. This is part of a National Scouting fundraising event.
